Decorative Wall Painting Business

I am always fascinated how few artists could express their artwork in murals and most especially on house decorative wall paintings.  I remember visiting one fairytale like house in Bangkok with its entire village on uniform themed houses.  I got impressed with the “Tuscany like” design of the house.  From outside, it was made to look like a castle.  Inside where several nature and scenic views which I thought were wall papers but to my surprise the owner said that it was drawn intentionally to create a wonderland perception.

Then I thought that if I want to learn house painting business then it’s the best way to keep myself busy and earn income right away.  I consider this as a service business that could start up with a bare minimum investment of brushes, ladders, some drop clothes and pure creativity.

To start a painting career of course you need to have lots of contacts.  It could range from family, friends, relatives and beyond.   If you opt for commercial network then you have to consider real estate companies and rental agents.  But for sure contacting private individuals would be more profitable yet the advantage of doing it commercially is that –it’s continuing.

To help promote or market your services you have to create a portfolio by compiling a photo album of your works like this example on top. It is better if you take both before and after pictures from similar angles.
