Language Skills in Business

Many occupation and career require skills in linguistic and good communication by way of writing and speaking.  Understanding different languages when it comes to a career in business like sales and advertising is very helpful in a lot of ways. That is why in job application it is now widely practiced to inquire applicants of their certain knowledge other than English language. Most especially in UN related offices and export companies.

One advantage would be for example. salespersons who are multilingual could manage to find the soft spots of their clients or create an open atmosphere every time they present their idea to the customers.  Good communication skill is the key to success.  Such employees could actually be considered a good asset to the company.

Today, I received a little surprise from my professeur that I have passed the test! One good reason to celebrate the simple quirks that I have in life.  Here’s the letter I got.

Bonjour,
Congratulations. You have successfully passed the FRENCH READING FINAL TEST. Your certificate will be issued by the LC sometime next week.

I know that it’s not practical to learn French but why have I been so diligent in filling my time with it? Probably because of the handful movies that I’ve watched that left me scratching my head. Of not understanding the whole story of it. Others I’ve heard, even studies francais for years. Mine is just another fragment of my life project. Learning this Romance language makes me crave for more.
