Get Rid of Bed Bugs

Mothers use to tell their kids to sleep early and don’t let the bed bugs bite. Does bed bugs bites only at night time? Probably not. Thank heavens, never in my whole life have I encountered that one.

During adolescence I was pretty adventurous at my age. I normally visit friends who stays in a populated environment. My fellow dormmates use to warn me not to go there often as I might bring in some bed bugs on our room instead of goodies. That pun was intended as a joke. But of course I keep that in mind. So often I take a bath 2 to 3 times a day during college.

Keeping Thieves Away From Home

Movies like “Home Alone” reminds me of how important our home. When everybody goes on a vacation and one little boy left behind, defending the house from the burglars becomes imminent. The reality of someone spying on our house and takes the right opportune time to break in are not only movie tales.

While going on a vacation we normally leave someone at home to take care of things around. Have some sort of security in place at our homes would cause a change in protecting our property. You can get some latest home security tips from reading online sites for a start. If you believe that this is not just enough then you could hire some professional security service provider. Knowing your home is protected provides peace of mind both when you are away and when you are home. It’s important that we make our house secure rather than just relying on police officers.

Life Is A Constant Change

The only thing that is constant in this world is change? As the popular song from Jose Mari Chan goes..

“We’re on the road
We move from place to place
And oftentimes when I’m about to call it home
We’d have to move along
Life is a constant change… “

Moving from one place to another is sometimes unavoidable. Job change is the usual reason as individuals are forced to move to another place due to job changes or job requirements. My sister a couple of years ago moved to Finland with her whole family as her husband transferred work there. They have to pack a month or so prior to the trip. When they arrive there their thing haven’t reached there yet and it took like a month of waiting. They also have difficulty adjusting to the new situation especially for the kids. Moving entails physical and emotional adjustments due to the environment change. Language barrier, cultural difference, weather change, and more. If one of those could be addressed before hand then there would be little need for adjustment.

In the US moving from one state to the other would not be difficult. This would be in terms of moving furniture, things, goods, and whatever personal effects. In Boston area for example there is Movers Boston which could be called upon to handle all your belongings. Mostly these moving service providers have a properly trained manpower with the latest equipments for moving. Thus, one will get the best moving and storage experience ever as compared to a self-done transfer. Getting the professionals help in moving from place to place would make a big difference.

Balikbayan box from Thailand

Balikbayan box from ThailandA short definition of balikbayan box from Wikipedia

(literally returnee’s box) is a cardboard box containing novelty items brought by or sent by a Filipino who is returning to the Philippines from a foreign country.[1] These boxes contain non-perishable food items, canned goods, other food items, toiletries, household and kitchen stuffs, time saving devices, computer parts, electronics, toys, designer clothing, personal items, and hard-to-find items in the Philippines.

I remember two months ago we loaded this brown box to be sent to our family back home in Negros Occidental, Philippines. On it were heavy collection of training materials, Thai products intended for
decorations, foods, dry goods, household equipments and anything that would fit the 24×24×18 box. It was too heavy that two big guys have helped us haul it into the van.

Eversince I left home, sending balikbayan box has never been a ritual. Hubby doesn’t like the idea of spending double, as he prefers to send cash at home. Last November was our first time to send the box that is why I can’t contain my excitement for the recipients.

That plain brown box is just more than a cardboard. That box holds a lot of love which connects to my family far away and most of all this simple gesture somehow eases the pain of separation specially during Christmas .

Extra info, our reliable forwarder last year was Seabra Movers, Thailand with Telephone no. +662 672-7900 and Fax no. +662 672 7970-2.
