The reclusive polygamist sect in Texas that was raided in April has had an unexpected consequence- the launch of new clothing line. Women from the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) who puts on a distinctive handmade clothing have now launched an online shop.
The meek dresses with long-sleeves and high collars, modest blouses, loose-fit pants, and long-johns brings in mind the 19th century fashion in US. They are obviously in demand after the sect members’ exposure to the public. Does this mean, history repeats itself? In fashion sense, why not?
