Before your engine gets ready to rev up, think again. Is there really a need to drive or take the public transportation instead? Many of the people here in Thailand gives more priority to car investment rather than owning their own house & lot. Which is totally opposite in my home country. For various reasons, it is pretty convenient to travel around the vast country of Siam if you have a car. The prize is considerably affordable too if you pay it on monthly basis. However the drawback of technological advancement compromises the important aspect of our life which is our environment.
With the majority of the cars being out in the streets at a certain time, the traffic situation and air pollution in Bangkok is getting worst each year. One car normally have 1 to 2 passengers only compared to the bus which carries several people at the same time. This ratio only shows that great number of carbon dioxide being accumulated in the air are caused by private and public car emissions.
In some cases, people are made aware of the environmental effect of excessive harmful gas emissions that is why constant reminders are being sent to practice energy saving measures. One way to do this is to lessen the consumption of gasoline through Carpool services. It’s not hard to organize as you may think as there is a website such as Ridesearch.com that does all the arrangement for you. Think green, think carpooling!
