Net Neutrality the way to kill the Internet

Net Neutrality (NN) can be defined as a network design principle. “The idea is that a maximally useful public information network aspires to treat all content, sites, and platforms equally.” –Tim Wu

It was alarming to read an entry regarding NN on entrecard.com. I then tried to explore more by watching the video clip attached entitled “Humanity Lobotomy -Second Draft”. This video basically aims to spread awareness of what might be the risk or the future of Internet if the telecommunications company takes control over the network.

As what I’ve understood it would function similarly to that of cable Television providers. That if one subscribes to a number of channels then that’s all a subscriber can view. Or as what Sir Tim Berners-Lee explains: If I pay to connect to the net with a given quality of service, and you pay to connect to the net with the same or higher quality of service, then you and I can communicate across the net, with that quality of service. [We] each pay to connect to the Net, but no one can pay for exclusive access to me.

In bloggers term, other than paying the ISP (Internet Service Provider) you need to pay extra if you publish your entries online. In comparison to the use of mobile phone, one pays for the subscription and also pays for other services (i.e. sending SMS, pictures etc).
